Five More Years?

From a parallel universe, the PM launched his election manifesto claiming the Labour government remains in “the future business building a future fair for all”. I am not entirely sure what that means but his Blairite talk about setting the public sector free did not mention the fact that, as Chancellor, he fought each and every reform. He surreally demands that the election be simply a choice between the two parties and not a referendum on his sleaze ridden disaster of an administration. In 1980 Ronald Reagan tellingly asked the American people if they felt happier and wealthier after four years of the Jimmy Carter presidency. Surely we should be asking ourselves if we are better off and more confident in 2010 than we were the day three years ago when Gordon Brown took over.
