Two attempts to regain public trust

In an attempt to regain public trust after revelations about errors, suppression of data, and wild exaggeration, the IPCC is to appoint an independent team to examine its procedures. Prompted by Climategate, the Met Office is to do the same in a tacit admission that its previous reports have been marred by their reliance on the CRU. Two separate inquiries are already being held into the nefarious activity at East Anglia but these have been undermined by a clear lack of objectivity in the inquiry teams. The new analysis will test all apocalyptic predictions and especially the IPCC’s ludicrous claim that “warming of the climate system is unequivocal”. The Met Office proposed the reassessment last December but Ed Miliband refused permission in a forlorn hope that the scandal could be hidden till after Copenhagen.
