Death Wish Strike

It is ridiculous for Unite to pretend that the cabin crews they represent are not employed by an airline in dire straights. BA has huge financial problems, and is operating in a declining market. It clearly cannot afford to carry on as before so the tactic of shutting the company down for ten days is completely idiotic. Surely the British trade unions learnt from the lunatic behaviour of the likes of Arthur Scargill that striking against a near bankrupt employer can only end in tears. In times past a Labour government would have stepped with wise counsel but Unite is one its biggest paymasters so that is a forlorn hope.
