Canadian Response: Not me guv!

I think the attempts of the Canadian Olympic officials to blame the luge athlete himself for his death are beneath contempt. The track designers had clearly not considered the possibility of a luger leaving the track and hitting one of the many metal girders on the edge of the racing line. In view of their lack of attention to even basic safety standards they are lucky not to have had more deaths in the sport. Instead of passing the buck, they should be trying to make sure that in the future such an obvious error will not have this tragic outcome.
